What’s in the box?

  • Alpha Morph
  • Keyboard with touchpad
  • OTG cable
  • Power Adapter
  • manual
  • Microsoft Office and Drive License Key

 Design

Alpha Morph’s design is not that special but also it doesn’t seem to feel so cheap. Its black matte finish for its back cover is good to keep those fingerprint off when using it in tablet mode. It also good that it has a keyboard dock included in the package that will also serve as the cover of the tablet.

Under the 10.1 -inch LCD is the windows logo, which happens to be also a capacitive home button.

On the top you will see its volume rocker.

Below  is where you will see the Pogo connection used to connect the keyboard included in the package.

On the left side is where you will see most of its important port such as 3.5mm jack, HDMI port, MicroSD slot, Micro USB port and another pin for power adapter. The power button is also located on the same side. It looks a little bit cheap on this side exposing the MicroSD slot and with the label used to each port.

Display

One of the best feature of the Alpha Morph is its screen. Alpha Morph is packed with 10.1 inch IPS display with WXGA (1280×800) screen resolution. Thanks to its IPS LCD you can tilt it how ever you want.  Alpha Morph doesn’t seem to have a scratch resistant screen, which means you need to bear to use it without screen protector or have it installed with a custom cut one. It also supports 10-point touchscreen which is good for multitasking and gestures.

You will see below the pictures of the different viewing angle of the Cherry Mobile Alpha Morph.

Performance

Cherry Mobile Alpha Morph is powered by Intel Atom Z3735D Quad-Core processor clocked at 1.33GHz paired with 2Gb of ram. As for the pre-installed OS it has a Windows 8.1 with Bing along side with the free 1-year subscription of Office 360 and OneDrive.

The performance of the Alpha Morph is more than enough on what you pay for. For only Php 11,999 you will be able to play games from low to mid graphics settings, for some games high setting may do. I’ve tried playing Asphalt 8 downloaded from the app store and surprisingly it worked smooth and can also be played using the accelerometer.

Battery

Cherry Mobile Alpha Morph’s 8000mAh battery is large enough for tablets and for Alpha Morph it just serves a 4-6 hours of straight use depending with the display brightness and number of peripherals connected to it. Over all the battery is good especially that it is a Windows powered tablet with lots of background applications running.

Verdict

For its price of Php 11,999 Cherry Mobile Alpha Morph is really a bang for the buck. It is a powerful tablet pc that can run almost everything a regular pc or laptop can do. The only thing that would be kept in mind is that it only have a 32gb internal memory which will limit you to install large applications and only a 64gb memory expansion can solved it. It can’t also read Ext HDD straight out of the box, but with the help of a externally powered USB hub we are able to connect more peripherals and also an Ext HDD.
